W. Scott Red, Jr.
Scott is a native Texan whose family roots pre-date the formation of the Republic. Following in his father’s footsteps, Scott has zealously represented clients and tried cases for over 38 years, throughout the State of Texas, and across the United States.
Over the course of his career, Scott has successfully handled numerous multi-million-dollar claims and suits; and, has established a high summary judgment success rate (representing movants and respondents). Scott’s experience covers a wide range of complex litigation including personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, products liability, professional liability, construction, fraud, insurance, bad faith, deceptive trade practices, contract, commercial, trade secret, real estate, subrogation, and estate cases.
After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rice University, Scott obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. Scott was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1981, and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Scott joined Engvall & York in July 2019.
